Silversmithing and Jewellery – Design by Project

If you have some prior experience in silversmithing (making functional products) or jewellery making, this is the course for you.

Key information

Course type: Part-time leisure, International Timetable:Monday 7.00pm - 9.00pm Course location: Brighton Metropolitan College, Central Campus Course fees: a. £160 b. £120 c. £80

Course aims and areas

This intermediate course will allow you to develop skills in both/either silversmithing and jewellery disciplines. It is particularly suited to silversmiths who would like to venture into new projects or undertake jewellery alongside their large pieces, but also jewellers who wish to develop a body of work through a number of smaller projects.

Designing by project means that you create your own programme with guidance from the tutor. Given such a fluid programme and the anticipated diversity of projects within the group, your knowledge will be enhanced by the experience of peer-learning. You will need to bring examples of your previous work and anything that you are currently working on, sketches and ideas to the first session.
