“I set myself the goal of just getting Cs rather than stressing about higher grades”

Qualifications obtained at school: 6 GCSEs
“For the professions I want to go into – either a commercial pilot or an aircraft engineer – you just need Maths, English and Science GCSEs. You don’t need to stress though, some of the guys here are retaking their GCSEs.
I set myself the goal of just getting Cs rather than stressing about higher grades because that’s all I needed to get onto this course and into this industry.
The amount of jobs going in aeronautics is huge at the moment and will be for at least the next ten years, worldwide, and they are really well paid. As long as you have the licenses and the basic qualifications there’s nothing stopping you.
The facilities here are great. We have 5-6 planes to work on. I can’t think of a better place!”
Harry is sharing his story as part of The MET's #NoStressSuccess campaign on the YMCA Right Here 'FindGetGive' mental health support website for 12-25 year-olds at
