“If I saw my 16-year-old self now, stressing about how to get an A in History, I would give him a slap!”

“If I saw my 16-year-old self now, stressing about how to get an A in my History GCSE, I would slap myself! Then I would say to him take what everyone else says with a pinch of salt (because everyone has an opinion) and follow your curiosity. Choose something you want to do after school and enjoy it – and if you don’t get the grades you want it’s not the end of the world. There’s always another way.

I’m so glad I chose fashion design, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. This course has enlightened me and I love that I get to explore and experiment with lots of different materials and techniques.

After this I might go to university or try and get a job. Eventually I’d like to work for one of the big fashion brands and then set up on my own. It might not all go according to plan but what I now get is that the race keeps going round and round, and the bits that don’t go well are only a pit stop.”
