“Stop worrying about the next 50 years and just worry about one day at a time”
Nick, aged 19
Studying: Foundation Level Fine Art at The MET
Went to: Steyning Grammar School
Qualifications obtained at school: 10 GCSEs and 3 A-Levels
“I did well in my exams and got 10 GCSEs at school but I found them really stressful, everyone does. I would say to anyone who is struggling with their GCSEs at the moment to try and just chill out and be yourself. I found the best way to cope was to stop worrying about the next 50 years and just worry about one day at a time.
I stayed on at school to do my A-Levels and then I decided to come to the MET to do Foundation Level Fine Art. And I’m so glad I did. This is such a creative and inspiring environment to work in and I love the freedom I get here compared to school. I’ve found something that I love doing.
My plan next year is to keep studying Fine Art at University in Amsterdam which is a pretty exciting prospect. And after that, who knows. Hopefully I’ll just keep doing what I love.”
