Case study - Charleen: Level 3 Healthcare Senior Support Worker Advanced Apprenticeship
Charleen recently completed the Level 3 Healthcare Senior Support Worker apprenticeship with Greater Brighton Metropolitan College, achieving a Distinction grade.
Charleen’s motivation for undertaking the apprenticeship was to gain the knowledge and skills required in order to develop her career in the healthcare industry.
She said, “I literally started my studies from scratch, achieving Functional Skills in Maths and English. The learning I have undertaken has given me such a broad knowledge of the key skills and values needed to work in healthcare.”
Following the completion of her apprenticeship, Charleen has now gained a place on a Nurse Associate course and thanked her GB MET assessors for being “a tremendous support throughout.”
A highlight of the apprenticeship for Charleen was gaining confidence in her abilities. “I feel happier in myself because I have finally found something that I feel I am actually good at. I feel fulfilled and whole as a person and appreciated and valued my team. I feel proud of what I do and the difference our team makes in people’s lives.”
