Case study - Doina: Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Apprenticeship
After moving to the UK from Romania, Doina wanted a career change and to improve her English language skills. She joined GB MET in 2017 to study ESOL, alongside GCSEs, as a requirement for starting an AAT accounting apprenticeship.
Since joining the College, Diona has achieved Level 1, 2 and 3 AAT and is currently working towards completing the Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting apprenticeship at Wilson Sandford, a prestigious firm of chartered accountants based in Brighton and Hove, with clients across the region.
Doina thanked her GB MET tutors, commenting, “My tutor not only teaches students, she inspires them, believes in them and helps them to succeed and follow their dreams.
The company accepted me as they appreciated my great results and said that GB MET teaches students at a great standard.”
Since coming to the UK, nearly five years ago, Doina’s highlights include “learning from and meeting wonderful people.” She said, “I am pleased that I chose to study at the MET; my tutor is dedicated, committed and marked my career in accountancy. I am doing a job that I love and I believe that this is the most important thing.”
Doina’s advice to anyone thinking about joining the course is “It’s never too late.” She is looking forward to “progressing as far as possible in her career and working to the best of her abilities.”
