Case study - Fredrick George Musanje: Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Trust
Fredrick George Musanje has successfully completed his Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship at the MET, whilst working at Kingscroft Care Home at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Since finishing the Level 3 qualification, Fredrick has been promoted from Support Worker to Engagement & Recovery Worker and is currently considering a degree level apprenticeship in either nursing or occupational therapy.
Fredrick also acts as a mentor to other staff in encouraging and motivating people through their own chosen apprenticeship.
Lynette Wildmore, Fredrick’s tutor and assessor said “Fredrick possesses an appetite for learning and has sought out qualifications to advance his knowledge and steadily grow his career with the NHS. His work is of a very high standard and has been shared with the team of assessors and internal college verifiers.
Emotional intelligence spills from the pages of Fredrick’s work. His storytelling provides an insight into the care and compassion his services deliver to patients and their families.
Fredrick is a natural problem solver and has remained determined, (even during times of significant change personally and professionally) to ensure that he produces work consistently throughout the duration of the programme.”
Fredrick was recently nominated for the BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2020, and although he wasn’t shortlisted, he has still done an outstanding job and is a credit to the NHS and the MET.
