Qualifications and Specialisms

Over the last 30 years I have enjoyed the benefits of being a trained carpenter and earned a good wage, travelled around the world and worked in Australia where I attained a working visa due to my carpentry qualifications. I enjoyed 3 years at University and decided that I wanted to become a teacher and therefore undertook further studies and gained my PGCE. I have taught in a number of colleges and schools around the country and gained 14 years of experience as a carpentry tutor. I am pleased to say that in November 2016 I returned to my home city of Brighton to teach carpentry at the college where I started as an apprentice, therefore completing the circle of carpentry.

Experience

I left school aged 16 and started a carpentry apprenticeship and attended Brighton College, and attained my City & Guilds craft certificate. I became self-employed and continued to work as a carpenter learning more about carpentry and improving my skills.
