How to apply

For Access to Higher Education courses

Before you apply you might want to read the information on fees and financial assistance. You may be entitled to fee remission or wish to apply for financial assistance before enrolling. Click here to read more about Access to Higher Education courses and financial assistance.

Found a course you like? Applying is easy! You have two options:

1. Apply using our online application form

When you find the access course you want to study, click on ‘apply now’ to complete a simple online application form. We will receive your application straight away.

2. Complete the PDF application form (which you can print, email or post)

Once you have found the course you want to study, click here to download our PDF application form.

Complete the form on your computer or on paper, then either:

Student Records, Brighton MET,  
Central Campus, Pelham Street,  
BN1 4FA. 

  • Alternatively, you can drop off your form at the College’s main reception or the Student Centre where you can also speak to a member of the Admissions team. 

You will also need to include a completed personal statement.

2. Complete the PDF application form (which you can print, email or post)

What happens next?

Once we have received your application you will receive a letter of acknowledgement. You will then receive a letter informing you of the outcome after it has been considered by a member of the Access team. You may be asked for additional information, receive a telephone call or be offered the opportunity to do an initial assessment.

If you are accepted on to a course you will be sent an offer letter containing information on how to enrol, which must be done in person at Brighton MET, central campus on Pelham Street. You will need to bring your offer letter in order to enrol. You will be asked to sign a learning agreement and will be required to pay any course fees.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive further information about the college to help you start with confidence and ease.

On your first day of your new course you will need to show your tutor your learning agreement and fee receipts.
