Course aims and areas

The Health and Health Sciences Programme is ideal if you want to progress onto university to study a degree in any subject related to health. You will acquire knowledge in the fundamental sciences and to develop a range of academic skills to enable you to be a successful independent student.

This programme provides academic preparation for first year entry into university and will enable you to meet the minimum English language requirement for entry to your chosen undergraduate degree programme.

The Health and Health Sciences Programme will help you to develop knowledge in a range of health science disciplines to prepare for entry into higher education.
On this course you’ll develop your knowledge in a range of health science disciplines that will prepare you for entry into higher education.

You will learn about anatomy and biology, genetics, human physiology and chemistry and psychology. The specialist subjects will provide you with a sound knowledge of biology and chemistry that will prepare you for the first year of any health related degree course.

Additionally you will choose a topic for study to produce an independent research project.

Laboratory technician

Typical Tasks:
