Work alongside our students and gain access to our art and design facilities
Brighton MET is offering the opportunity for four artists to become artists in residence alongside the Foundation Art course for a year, using the College’s Art & Design facilities and expertise to work on a project and undertake research.
As part of the Artists Access to Art Colleges (AA2A) scheme involving further and higher education institutions across England, the Brighton MET residencies will give participating visual artists and designer-makers the opportunity to use specialist equipment which may not otherwise be available to them while benefiting the College and its students by bringing in new ideas and techniques.
Carolyn Wright, Assistant Principal Brighton MET, says:
"These residencies provide fantastic opportunities for the artists, our students and our teaching staff. Our Visual Arts department prides itself on its vibrant and creative atmosphere and its supportive, collaborative spirit and I feel the new artists in residence will contribute to this and also benefit greatly from it."
AA2A is supported by The National Lottery through Arts Council England.
