If you have an entrepreneurial streak, a creative spark and have big, bold ideas for a potentially lucrative career, then Business at Brighton MET is for you.

This course will give you the foundation to go on to degree level study, an apprenticeship, or into the workplace, with with the skills needed to manage a business or social enterprise, or work in a large corporate company.

Whether you are heading for self-employment or big business, you will develop a range of essential business techniques and personal attributes.

You will gain knowledge of marketing, recruitment and current business affairs, enabling you to choose specialist progression pathways or continue to keep your options open.

All 16-19 (full-time) courses require an application review meeting. This is a chance for us to talk through your choice of choice and ensure it's right for you.

There are specific CEFR proficiency requirements for international students.

Course Costs

All 16-19 (full-time) courses are free to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31 August 2017. The only fees you have to pay are for specialist resources and equipment. The cost of these varies from £25 to £300 depending upon the subject you are studying.

Work experience

All students will have the opportunity to undertake 30 hours of work experience, which will provide invaluable links with local employers.

Some of our business students have the opportunity to take part in high-quality work experience with Lloyds Bank.

Brighton MET is keen to offer our students work experience placements, particularly with the increasing importance for students to complete placements as part of their study programmes across all industry areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for employers and students alike to gain something valuable with long-term benefits for the business and for students.

What's next?

80% of our Level 3 Business (Year 2) students go on to university. 

On successful completion of Year 1 you may wish to continue onto Year 2 to complete the Diploma or the Extended Diploma.

Alternatively, completing the Level 3 in Business offers a lots of opportunities through university and apprenticeship programmes.
