Course aims and areas

This course is ideal for those that want to work in a business environment, whether in a large corporate company or a small independent business.

Every type of business environment requires the ability to be organised, to use office equipment, work with others, deal with customers, answer the telephone, write letters, complete business documents and much more.

Over the year you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of enterprise, finance, marketing and team building in business. You will also benefit from a trip to London where we get access to top level businesses and how they work.

Vocational Business Level 2 is an incredibly popular and consistently successful course to study at Brighton MET.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Enterprise in the Business World, Finance, Marketing and Team Building in Business. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 Extended Diploma in Business.

All 16-19 (full-time) courses require an application review meeting. This is a chance for us to talk through your choice of choice and ensure it's right for you.

There are specific CEFR proficiency requirements for international students.

Course Costs

All 16-19 (full-time) courses are free to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31 August 2017. The only fees you have to pay are for specialist resources and equipment. The cost of these varies from £25 to £300 depending upon the subject you are studying.

Work experience

You will have the opportunity to undertake 30 hours of dedicated work experience in an industry/function of your own choice to enhance employment opportunities. 

Brighton MET is keen to offer our students work experience placements, particularly with the increasing importance for students to complete placements as part of their study programmes across all industry areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for employers and students alike to gain something valuable with long term benefits for the business and for students.
