How does it work?
During your first few weeks at college, you will be told when you are scheduled to be going out on work experience.
This might be for a block week, or an extended placement of 1-2 days per week over several weeks.
Each department has an allocated Work Experience Coordinator, who you will meet during one of your early tutorials. This will be a chance for you to find out more about the process, and for the Work Experience Coordinator to find out more about you and your interests and any part-time work or other commitments you may have.
How does it work?
The Work Experience Coordinator will then match you to a suitable placement with one of the many employers we work closely with, and confirm all the details to you in plenty of time before your allocated start date.
During your placement, you will record your tasks, hours and achievements in a Work Experience Journal. This information can then be used to update your CV or to provide evidence towards your coursework. Once you return to College after placement, you’ll be asked to fully evaluate your experience and reflect on the skills and experience you have gained.
