Art and Design - Introduction to Art and Design
This is a highly practical course to further your skills in art and design with the aim of producing a portfolio of work.
Course aims and areasThis course is both practical and enjoyable. Highly qualified and experienced tutors will introduce you to the formal elements of art and design, including line, tone, texture, colour, form and composition. You’ll explore a wide range of basic skills, experimental techniques, processes and different media through the completion of project work. Both two and three dimensional approaches will also be explored.
There will be both group and individual tutorials to support your learning and you will be required to produce a body of developmental art and design work, including sketchbook work, which may be used for the development of your own creative practice or to assist with applications for future progression onto art and design courses (for example, our intermediate level course).
