Found a part-time course you like? Applying is easy!

How to apply

Depending on the course you are interested in, there will be one of two apply routes:

1. Courses that require a full application and interview (most of our adult professional courses)

Courses that require an application and interview will display a pink 'Apply' button on the website and are marked with an 'A' icon in the part-time course guide.

Before you apply you might want to read the information on fees and financial assistance. You may be entitled to a fee remission or wish to apply for financial assistance before enrolling. To find out more about financial assistance and fees please visit our finance page.

If you would like to enrol onto a part-time course that requires an application and interview, you have two options:

1 Apply using our online application form
Click apply on your chosen course and you will be taken to our application form which is currently used for all course types (including our 16-19 full-time courses).

If you are applying for a part-time course, please select the MET under 1st choice college below and the course you wish to apply to. You do not need to choose more than one option.

2 Complete the PDF application form (which you can email or post back)
Once you have found the course you want to study, click on the button below to download our PDF application form.
Complete the form, then either:

    Email the completed form to , or
    Post the completed form to:
    Student Records, Brighton MET,
    Central Campus, Pelham Street,
    BN1 4FA.

    Alternatively, you can drop off your form at the College’s main reception or the Student Centre where you can also speak to a member of the Admissions team.

What happens next?

You will be invited for an interview. This is an opportunity for you to find out more about Brighton MET and the course you are applying for, see our facilities and ask any questions you may have. We will review your application form with you and ensure that the course you have applied for is the best option for you and that you meet the required entry criteria.

Within two weeks we will confirm the outcome of your interview. If you wish to check the progress of your application please call our admissions team on 01273 667704 or email 

Once you are accepted on to a course you will need to enrol in the student centre at Central Campus on Pelham Street. If you were sent an offer letter (does not apply to all courses), you will need to bring this with you in order to enrol. You will be asked to sign a learning agreement and will be required to pay any course fees. You will also be given a student ID card.

We will also ask for identification for all new students at enrolment. Please note that Residents from outside the UK will need to bring their Passport or National ID Card if they are from the EU. Residents from outside the EU will need to bring their Passport, National ID Card, Home Office papers and any other relevant documentation in order for us to conduct a fees assessment.

Once you have enrolled, you will be emailed further information about the college to help you start with confidence and ease. Please remember to wear your ID badge whenever you come into college.

2. Direct enrolment courses that do not require an interview (most of our adult part-time leisure courses).

Our direct enrolment courses have a green 'Pay and enrol' button on the website and are marked with a 'E' icon in the part-time prospectus.

When you find the course you want to study, click on ‘enrol and pay’ to complete a simple online enrolment form which links to a secure payment system. We will receive your form and payment straight away. Please note that to complete your online enrolment full payment of all fees will be required.

If you would prefer, you can pay for your course in person, by post or by phone:

To enrol and pay in person please visit our Central Campus Student Centre, Pelham Street, BN1 4FA, about two minutes walk from Brighton train station.

Please complete the enrolment form in advance and bring any proof of benefits with you, please see our fees page for further information.

To enrol and pay by post please complete the enrolment form and send it with your payment to:

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Greater Brighton Metropolitan College’.

Please note that submitting a postal enrolment does not guarantee a place on the course and in the event that the course is unavailable, you will be contacted to advise you and to discuss alternative courses.

To enrol and pay by phone please call the Student Records Team on 01273 667767 with your credit or debit card details to hand. If on the there is no ‘enrol and pay online’ button on the web page, then the course is not available for online enrolment at this time and you should follow process number 2 above.
