British Sign language - Introduction, 10 week course

Course Aims:

Learn the basic vocabulary and grammar of British Sign Language (BSL) in order to communicate with deaf people. We will cover meeting people; exchanging personal information; describing objects and locations; getting around; food and drink; and more. You will also find out about the Deaf community and Deaf culture.

Course aims

Your study will include meeting people, exchanging personal information and describing objects and locations. It also features getting around, people and their lives, shopping, food and drink, numbers and quantities, calendars, emotions and weather.

The course is designed to enable students with little or no experience of BSL to acquire the basic ability to communicate with deaf people using sign language and also provide information about deaf people, the Deaf community and Deaf culture.
