You will gain invaluable experience if you choose to study with us - our catering and hospitality department benefits from modern facilities such as industry standard training kitchens as well as our training restaurant, The Gallery which is staffed by students and open to the public at our Brighton Central Campus on Pelham Street.
Day to day with us, you be working in a realistic training environment and you will have plenty of opportunity to learn techniques and tricks of the trade that are essential for a successful career in this fun and fast-paced industry. As well as practical skills you will also learn theory around the principles of catering, health and safety, nutrition and computing, maths and language skills.

This Introduction to Professional Cookery Level 1 Diploma develops key skills for building a career in the catering and hospitality industry.

Our Gateway (SEND) courses cater for 16-25 year olds with mild/moderate learning difficulties, behavioural or social needs. These courses are also suitable for people with mental health concerns.

Five of the MET’s catering students have been accepted onto the Exclusive Hotels Chef’s Academy.
Heated charity challenge for student chefs
Hospitality and Catering students at Brighton MET felt the heat in a recent ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ charity challenge. Over the course of two weeks, four teams of students went head-to-head to create and serve the very best three course meal, with the winner going through to the third and final week. Family, friends and members of the public paid £25 for the meal, with all proceeds from the final being donated to charity.
