Childcare & Health Social Care

We have a number of care-based courses at Brighton MET, including T Levels, to help you pursue a career in early years education, teaching, nursing, midwifery, social work or other health pathways.

Our tutors have professional industry experience and have valuable knowledge that they’ll be able to share with you. Brighton MET College also works closely with local employers to ensure that our study programmes meet their needs. You will undertake work expereince and career-focused projects.

STUDY CHILDCARE AT BRIGHTON MET

At the MET, we offer a range of qualifications and apprenticeships in Childcare.

On our courses, you’ll gain hands-on experience of working with children and you’ll learn all about subjects such as child development, safe environments for children, children and play, communication systems and professional practice. The placements we provide with local day centres and nurseries could also open the door to full-time employment at the end of your course.

Becoming a professional in the care sector can involve working with: the elderly, people with disabilities and vulnerable adults and children and as such can be a challenging but highly rewarding career. There are many career paths available in this field including care assistants, nurses, health workers and social workers.

The placements we provide with local nursing homes, day centres, nurseries and schools could open the door to full time employment at the end of your course.

WHY CHOOSE BRIGHTON MET

At Brighton MET we offer a variety of full-time courses for 16-19 year olds and a huge number of courses for adult learners (19+) across our two campuses. We teach technical and professional skills and provide practical industry-focused experience. This is a great way to study and equips you with the key skills needed to progress into employment, further your career or to go on to study at University.

The tutors were very supportive and helpful throughout the course, and they helped me to gain the qualification that has shaped the beginning of my career. I have had a great introduction to my career, spending several years working in childcare for a travel company.
