Working with children and young people is a fantastically rewarding career path and if you aspire to be an early years or childcare professional there are many jobs in this field including: childcare assistants, nursery nurses and childcare development officers.
At Brighton MET, we offer a range of qualifications and apprenticeships in Childcare. Our tutors have professional industry experience and have valuable knowledge that they’ll be able to share with you. Brighton MET also works closely with local employers to ensure that our study programmes meet their needs.
On our courses, you’ll gain hands-on experience of working with children and you’ll learn all about subjects such as child development, safe environments for children, children and play, communication systems and professional practice. The placements we provide with local day centres and nurseries could also open the door to full-time employment at the end of your course.

Early Years & Childcare | Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid |
This qualification provides learners with the first aid skills they require to enter into the children’s workforce.
Early Years | CACHE NCFE Certificate | Level 4
Suitable for learners aged 18 and over, who are currently employed as an early years Level 3 practitioner. Develop leadership and specialist skills for use in your current role, or in preparation to take on a specialist role.
