A special delivery to the MET
Brickwork students at Northbrook MET welcomed a special delivery from leading manufacturer Ibstock Brick Ltd recently.
The company donated a lorry load of bricks which were delivered free of charge to the College by logistics company, Wincanton. The bricks will allow the next generation of bricklayers to train using top class material for their coursework. Ibstock have also invited the students to take a behind-the-scenes tour of their South Holmwood factory.
Adam Foster, Factory Manager at Ibstock, said, "We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity to donate bricks for the students at the College, and to join forces with our logistics partner, Wincanton, to deliver them. Supporting our local communities is part of our ethos at Ibstock and we are always keen to help develop the future work force for the construction industry.”
A spokesperson for Wincanton said, “We were approached by Ibstock to support them in the delivery of bricks to the College. We are happy to be working in partnership with them and to support the development and training for the future of the building industry.”
Garry Blunt, Curriculum Manager for Engineering & Construction, said, “I cannot thank Ibstock enough for the donation to our Construction department. It is fantastic when a company works so collaboratively with a college for the good of the students and gives them the opportunity to work with top class new materials. I would also like to thank Wincanton transport for delivering the bricks free of charge.”
