BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2020
GB MET Apprentice, Olajumoke Aderiye, has been shortlisted for the Carers Award at the BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
Olajumoke is a Staff Nurse with the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and is undertaking a Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Care, Leadership and Management with GB MET.
Olajumoke’s tutor and assessor (IQA), Lynette Wildmore, said, “Ola has maintained good progress with her qualification despite the recent changes on her unit. She has supported her manager and colleagues through these changes and adopted a solution focused approach to the many challenges. Her standard of written work is high and she uses appropriate research in her essays. Ola has said that she has implemented in practice what she has learned through research. I am very pleased to support the nomination for this award.”
Speaking about her apprenticeship journey, Olajumoke said, “I have found this a very rewarding opportunity to increase my skills and knowledge. Lynette has been very supportive and I highly recommend the apprenticeship to other Nurses. It gave me the opportunity to reflect and I have learned a lot through this particular course in Leadership and Management.”
The BAME Apprenticeship Awards, in partnership with Pearson, will hold the awards gala dinner on 24 November 2020.
