Former student lends her expertise

Level 3 Fashion & Textiles Diploma students have worked on an industry design brief set by a former MET student who is now running her own sustainable luxury brand.

Fah Singtong graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design in 2009, whilst an intern for Alexander McQueen. Since graduating, she has worked for Ralph & Russo as a Senior Embroiderer and is currently working for Heikki Salonen (Head Designer of Maison Margiela's womenswear), whilst building her own couture brand.

Fah set the students a brief to design for Stella McCartney, which involved market research to inform a focused customer or muse profile.

Fashion & Textiles tutor Carolyn Harrison said, “Fah’s brief gave the students a good understanding of fashion markets. She also provided feedback to the students to aid them in building better portfolios. She said that the students did really well and some have got great potential."
