Graduate Fashion Week

The designs of Northbrook MET BA Fashion Design students hit the catwalk at Graduate Fashion Week in London recently. The students presented their end of degree work to an audience comprised of fashion houses, critics, bloggers and trendsetters at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.

MET student Kirsty Taylor was offered an interview with Givenchy and was also approached to work with Paul Costello after the show. Nadia Hattabi was selected for the Gala awards with her sports luxe collection fused with an Arabic theme. Fashion students at the College have been showing their work at this prestigious event for over 20 years and have often been awarded prizes and reviewed in the national press.

Fashion Degree Course Leader, Gayle Atkins, said, “I am very proud of the students’ successes at this year’s event, which has attracted great interest from the industry. Kirsty also has an internship lined up with George in the Buying and Design departments. Another student, Becky Hanlon, has also secured an internship in tailoring at Dashing Tweeds in London.”
