A group of local youngsters on Brighton MET's Prince’s Trust Team programme have refurbished the Little Ducklings Pre-School outdoor play-area at Hangleton Community Centre.

Alongside a much-needed clear up, leaf-sweeping and tidying up the mini garden, the hard-working Hove team brightened up the area with extensive painting and created a Dr Seuss mural and a numbered caterpillar where the children put their coats inside. The Prince’s Trust Team programme is a 12-week personal development course for 16-25 year olds which helps unemployed young people gain the skills and confidence to find a job. Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, training or education.

Nicolette Bedwell, Manager of Little Ducklings, says:

"The contribution the Prince’s Trust Team made was amazing, we’re really happy with all their hard work and the children love what’s been done. All the tasks they took on were things that we always wanted done but just didn’t have enough time in the day. All the team were lovely young people, easy to work with and did exactly what was required."

Team member Tom Dunford says:

"I really enjoyed how we pulled together as a team and managed to get so much work done. Once we’d finished and looked at the transformation we’d made, all the team felt really proud."
