Remote teaching and learning | Update: 6pm Tuesday 05 January 2021
Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Guardians,
Although at the time of writing the Department for Education has not changed its position on the exams scheduled for January (e.g. BTECs), we have listened to feedback from staff, students and their families, and we take everyone’s concerns very seriously. As a result, we have taken the decision to cancel all exams scheduled to take place during this national lockdown. The safety of our staff and students remains our top priority.
We will be in touch with those affected students shortly and will continue to support them through their qualification to ensure they are not disadvantaged by this decision.
Teaching from Monday 11 January
Live online sessions will commence next week as per your/ your child’s timetable. Teachers will be in contact with students this week to confirm expectations.
English and maths lessons will also continue as usual through live remote sessions.
Awarding bodies will be confirming how students will be graded and assessed. It is vitally important that you / your child continues to attend your / their timetabled sessions.
We are beginning to compile some FAQs to answer any questions you might have. We will also be providing guidance to help parents/carers/guardians to support their children with remote teaching and learning. These will be made available via our website shortly.
