Students tackle plastic pollution
Students from Brighton East Campus joined forces with Surfers against Sewage to carry out a beach clean recently.
The Sport and Public Services students discovered the impact of human behaviour on the planet during a tutorial compiled by Belinda Garlick, before taking to the shores to bag as much rubbish as they could.
The team who collected the most rubbish were awarded with vouchers for Nando’s in Brighton Marina.
Anne Moynihan, Head of Sport, Public/Uniformed Services, Health and Early Years, said. “The whole department was involved and the students did an amazing job. The manager from Nando’s said that she was really happy to support such a brilliant initiative, so it was a positive experience all round.”
