The MET scores with a new Football Coaching Traineeship

Is it your goal to be a football coach?

We are now offering a free Football Coaching Traineeship for young adults aged 19+ who want to train, play and learn about coaching a football team.

The debut traineeship commences on 5 November 2018 with a full-time, 12-week programme of coaching, work experience and practical sessions.

Participants will gain a Level 1 Award in Sport and an FA Level 1 in Coaching Football. The programme also covers coaching methodology and includes 100 hours of work experience with Montpellier Villa FC.

The work experience will be based on practical coaching sessions and the opportunity to play for the club. Montpelier Villa are a Brighton-based club with teams in the Mid-Sussex League, Southern Combination League and Sussex Women’s and Girls League. The coaching aspect of the traineeship will enable participants to learn from a football coach who has coached at academy level in Spain and Norway.

Completing this MET traineeship will enable participants to progress onto further study, sports apprenticeships or employment.

This full time course starts from 5 November for 12 weeks (including a 2 week Christmas break) and is open to young adults age 19 or over. The course is free if you earn less than £15,736 per year or are claiming JSA/ESA benefits.
