Courses start in September and will run through the year.
The Bungalow
We have a two-bedroom bungalow on site which will allow realistic learning to take place in a typical dwelling with all the inherent energy efficiency problems the building poses.
Works will include:
- installing solar panels on the roof
- a wind generator in the garden
- an air source heat pump
- fitting internal and external insulation
- underfloor insulation
- windows & doors, fenestration modifications
- rainwater Harvesting
Live energy performance inspections will be carried out in the setting and the building will be used as a teaching space for a number of our construction courses.

Property Maintenance Green Apprenticeship
Our flagship property maintenance operative green apprenticeship level 2 will allow learners to upskill their maintenance skills with an emphasis on sustainable and sympathetic energy efficient measures including whole/part retrofitting skills, filling the skills gap.
This 24-month apprenticeship is designed to upskill the existing workforce to be able to carry out more varied maintenance skills or improve on existing maintenance skills. The course is constructed to have a strong green theme. In order to meet employers' needs we aim to upskill the apprentices to have green technology skills to add to their portfolio of competencies, making each learner a valuable asset to his or her company.
Our aim is to work towards filling the skills shortage within our local area so that more Energy Efficient Measures can be carried out aiding everyone to achieve their green journey goals.
