Course aims and areas
The subjects in this course are chosen to stimulate and help you express yourself using both traditional and experimental techniques.
You will use an exciting range of materials such as graphite, pencils, charcoal, ink and pastels, with guidance provided throughout the course.

Brighton MET Visual Arts department has an extensive and well-equipped range of practical working environments and art studios
3D printer, laser cutting machine, large scale ink jet printer, Canon EOS DSLR cameras, Mac animation suite, photographic suite
Plaster, ceramics and glass workshops, printmaking workshop (screen, lino, metal and dry point etching)
3D wood, metal and plastics workshop including a forge, a pattern cutting room and fashion studio
The fees for this course are: a. £129 b. £97 c. £635
Some courses are eligible for discounted fees depending on your circumstances. The lower fees stated above (b) are applicable to applicants claiming housing benefit, council tax benefit, income support or pension credit. Fees for band (c) are for jobseekers claiming JSA or ESA.
The cost and whether or not you have to pay depends on your age, circumstances and educational history.

For the first lesson please bring a sketchbook, rubber and sketching pencils (2b and 4b as a minimum).
You will be required to buy more drawing materials throughout the course.
We will run through a materials list in the first lesson and you will always be advised on what to bring to next lesson.
You will not need new materials for every lesson.
