Drawing Skills Intermediate
Course aims and areas
You will cover some new techniques on this course and build on previous experience either gained on the beginners course or elsewhere.
Familiar subjects include shading, line drawing and colour work in more detail. New topics include scaling up from a photograph, drawing animals and creating a composition.
There is also room for you to make your own decision about materials and techniques, in order to develop a unique style.
For the first lesson please bring a sketchbook, rubber and sketching pencils (2b and 4b as a minimum).

• Brighton MET Visual Arts department has an extensive and well-equipped range of practical working environments and art studios
• 3D printer, laser cutting machine, large scale ink jet printer, Canon EOS DSLR cameras, Mac animation suite, photographic suite
• Plaster, ceramics and glass workshops, printmaking workshop (screen, lino, metal and dry point etching)
• 3D wood, metal and plastics workshop including a forge, a pattern cutting room and fashion studios
The fees for this course are: a. £129 b. £97 c. £65
Some courses are eligible for discounted fees depending on your circumstances. The lower fees stated above (b) are applicable to applicants claiming housing benefit, council tax benefit, income support or pension credit. Fees for band (c) are for jobseekers claiming JSA or ESA.
