Why this course?

This course is designed for those who have a good grasp of basic sewing, sewing machine confidence and want to revive their current garments. You will learn how to adjust, fix and customise your existing garments and have more general sewing confidence.

In addition to the cost fees, students will be required to purchase their own material, pattern and sewing sundries.

Course topics
- Apply a decorative applique to cover a problem area such as a rip or stain
- Learn to replace a broken concealed zip and trouser fly
- Alter the fit
- Re-hem garments
- Take a pattern from your favourite garment to recreate at home
Why the MET?

Additional costs
Students are required to bring large and small sharp fabric scissors, pins, tape measure and thread to every lesson, as well as scraps of fabric for samples and either pencils or tailor's chalk. Students are also encouraged to invest in a tracing wheel and should bring either tracing paper, brown paper or pattern paper.
