Course aims

This course aims to provide you with the technical levels of competence to progress to a variety of degree courses and careers, or start an apprenticeship. Based in our newly refurbished workshops and classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, such as a 3D printer, you will gain experience of circuit design, control, testing, communications and computer systems.

To join this Level 3 course, you should have at least 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths, science and English.

This course is run from our purpose-built construction and engineering centre at Northbrook MET's Broadwater Campus. The industry-standard facilities simulate a real working environment, with workshops designed to provide a learning experience that will prepare you for employment.

You will work alongside students studying other construction and engineering disciplines and benefit from this unique learning environment. 

Broadwater Campus has excellent facilities, including our coffee shop (serving Starbucks beverages), canteen (hot and cold food and drink), Learning Resource Centre (Library) and access to research and IT facilities. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and screens to enhance your learning.
