Qualifications and Specialisms

*BA(Hons) in Silversmithing Jewellery and Allied Crafts.
*PGCE specialising in Art and Design with over 28 years of teaching experience.
*Masters in Art and Design from The University of Brighton.
Cath works on a commission basis as well as supplying shops and galleries. Cath has a particular interest in working with non-precious, reclaimed materials, having experience in working with acrylics, enamels, resin, wood and metalwork.

Experience

Cath Laffan is a self-employed designer-maker and educator and is currently working coordinating and delivering the Part-Time Art Foundation at GB MET. Cath has a workshop in Brighton and is the founding member of “Brighton Designers and Makers” situated in Sydney Street, co-managing the iO gallery on-site, showing local artists since 1997.
