English courses for adults | Worthing
Why this course?

We offer a range of English classes to suit all abilities and aspirations. After you have applied to study with us, you will be invited into the College for an assessment and a chat with the English department. This will determine what course and level are best for you and your goals. These courses are designed for native speakers of English but we are happy to accept students who have English as a second language if they have achieved or are working at least L1 ESOL.
Brush-up
If it has been a long time since you have studied English or completed an assessment, this short, welcoming course will gently re-introduce you to some of the basics that you may have forgotten or didn’t understand in the first place.
Pre-GCSE
Are you keen to gain a GCSE in English, but think you need a bit more time to prepare? Pre-GCSE could be the right level for you.
GCSE English
As an essential qualification for many jobs and courses, GCSE English aims to develop your oral communication, language, reading, creative writing skills, and text analysis.
We have classes in the morning, afternoon and evening and all classes last for 2.5 hours – details given at interview.
We are happy to accept late applications, as some courses may start later in the year.
Please email adultenglishandmaths@gbmc.ac.uk if you have any questions about any of our English courses.
