Why this course?

A painting of white flowers

This course is both practical and enjoyable. Highly qualified and experienced tutors will develop your skills and knowledge of the formal elements of art and design, through a project theme. Within the theme you will develop your skills in line, tone, texture, colour, form and composition. You will further explore experimental techniques, processes and different media both in two and three dimensional approaches.

There will be both group and individual tutorials to support your learning and you will be required to produce a body of developmental art and design work, including sketchbook work in response to the theme. The work produced may be used for the development of your own creative practice or to assist with applications for future progression onto art and design courses (for example, our part time foundation).
