Accommodation for international students

Homestays, shared houses, hotels and guesthouses

Accommodation

The accommodation team offer a wide range of comfortable, safe homestay accommodation options to UK and international students.

All accommodation is closely monitored by the college. The accommodation team are available to provide all the help and advice you may need. Students will be placed into accommodation according to their age and personal preferences.

Homestay accommodation

Homestay means that you will live in a house with a local host (this may be a single person, couple or family). Homestay is available to all students on full-time courses.

You can specify whether you wish to be in a smoking or non-smoking household and can choose to stay in accommodation with or without pets or children.

All our homestay providers are inspected by a member of the accommodation team each academic year, have a fire risk assessment, a yearly gas safety check and complete our online safeguarding module in line with the college policy.

Host providers will provide unlimited internet to their students at no extra cost.

Half Board

Half board homestay accommodation means that your host will provide you with breakfast and an evening meal during the week and breakfast, lunch and dinner at the weekend. These meals are included in the price of the accommodation.

You'll share the facilities in the house you stay in with your host. Laundry is included once a week in the price of your accommodation. Any extra laundry should be discussed with your host.

Accommodation distance from the College

We aim to place students no more than 45 minutes' travel distance to college by public bus or on foot. In some cases, for example in peak times, it is necessary to places students up to 60 minutes' travel distance. This is to ensure we can select homestays which meet our standards and requirements.

You will be eligible for some student discounts on travel. A weekly student bus ticket valid across the whole Brighton network is around £14.

Please visit the Brighton and Hove buses website for more information on current student fares.
