Why this course?

This course develops your skills in a diverse range of skills required for the musical theatre industry. You will take workshops in vocal technique and a variety of dance styles, as well as focusing on a broad range of acting skills.
Public performances take place in our main house theatre, working alongside production students and simulating industry practice and standards, to prepare you for a successful career or for further study at university-level. Industry-based projects and work experience opportunities are part of each course curriculum, enabling you to further develop the skills to progress to a career in this creative industry with the energy and confidence to thrive.
This Level 3 Diploma leads directly onto the second year, the Extended Diploma, where you will further develop your creative understanding and specialist skills, and gain the experience needed to progress to university or seek employment.

Entry requirements
At least four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. You will be asked to perform an audition at the interview.
If you do not have the above grades, you can start on one of the MET's Level 2 course in Production & Performance Arts.

Further study:
Following completion of the Diploma (year 1) you can progress to the Extended Diploma (year 2).
On successful completion of the Extended Diploma, you could progress to a university-level course, either at the MET or at other universities, drama schools and conservatoires.

Course fees
This course is free if you meet the following criteria:
- You are a UK citizen, hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify you for home status.
AND
- If you will be aged 19-23 when your course begins and you have not already achieved a full Level 3 or higher, you may not have to pay any fees.
