Our Level 2 Uniformed Services course will prepare you for careers working with people by developing skills such as communication, fitness, teamwork and leadership.

In 2018 our Broadwater Campus officially opened its Combined Cadet Force Unit (Royal Navy). By studying our uniformed services courses, you will join the Cadet Force, which is an adventure activity-focused programme. You will also be issued with a uniform and take part in regular parades.

Entry requirements

To start at Level 2 you will need least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and maths.

If you do not have these grades, don't worry - you can start at Level 1 and then progress to Level 2 after that.

Our Broadwater Campus is ideally suited for uniformed services courses, with a large area at the rear of the building perfect for drills and parade practice.

The campus has a modern canteen serving hot and cold food and a coffee shop serving Starbucks beverages, snacks and sandwiches. The Learning Resource Centre (Library) and IT suites facilitate your academic research and learning.

Course fees

This course is free (you do not have to pay fees) if:

  • You are a UK citizen, hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify you for home status.
  • AND you are under 19 on 31 August in the year you are studying. 

This course is also free if you meet the following criteria:

  • You may not have to pay any fees if you will be aged 19 or over when you begin this course and:
  • You are a UK citizen, hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify you for home status. 

 AND

  • You are in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • OR you are receiving a means tested benefit, earning less than £345 per month (take home) if you are a sole claimant or £552 a month if you have a joint claim with your partner, and are completing the course to improve your employability
  • OR if you are working and earn less than £18,525 per year (gross pay)
  • You will need to provide evidence and sign a declaration when you enrol.

All 16+ (full-time) courses are free to UK citizens, those who hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify them for home status, AND are under 19 years old on the 31 August of the year of entry.
