Course aims

This exciting course will prepare you for careers in the uniformed services by developing skills such as fitness, teamwork, personal protection and leadership. As well as access to our gym, students will join our Combined Cadet Force (Royal Navy), an exciting adventure activity-focused programme. You  will be issued with a uniform and will take part in regular parades. In 2018, our Broadwater Campus officially opened its Combined Cadet Force Unit (Royal Navy).

Entry requirements

To start at Level 2 you will need least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and maths.

If you do not have these grades, don't worry - you can start at Level 1 and then progress to Level 2 after that.

In 2018, our Broadwater Campus officially opened its Combined Cadet Force (Royal Navy) and signed the Armed Forces Covenant to demonstrate the College's support for the armed forces community. Students therefore enjoy an unrivalled environment in which to prepare for a career in the uniformed services. The MET is the first FE college to offer CCF (Royal Navy) cadetship and Fire & Rescue cadetship, and holds the RAF platinum award for providing outstanding candidates. Students have access to our campus gym and are guided through their programme by expert tutors.

Our Broadwater Campus is ideally suited for the Uniformed Services courses, with a large area at the rear of the building perfect for drills and parade practice. The campus has a modern canteen serving hot and cold food and a coffee shop serving Starbucks beverages, snacks and sandwiches. The Learning Resource Centre (Library) and IT suites facilitate your academic research and learning.
