Connor's Pilgrim Motorsports success

Connor Antram recently enjoyed an exciting industrial work placement with Pilgrim Motorsports, who manufacture recreations of the iconic Cobra & Speedster.

The company was hesitant at first about taking on a teenager in the factory and workshop, but have been delighted with Connor’s hard work and enthusiasm for learning.

Nicola Bennett, Operations, Planning and Steering Manager said, “Our team were happy to teach him. He showed extreme passion and quickly earned their respect. He always arrived early, never left on time, wanting to see the job through and coming in even when he had attained the required hours to complete his course.

We found him to be self-motivated and a pleasure to have in the workshop. He attended social gatherings and joined us at car meetings and shows such as The Breakfast Club and Goodwood Festival of Speed.

We offered Connor a position in our classic car service centre and it has now become part of our business plan to offer an apprenticeship to candidates who have completed a successful industry placement with us.

The student who have spent time working for us have been great ambassadors for the MET.  Please consider taking on work placements and apprenticeships; an injection of enthusiasm and passion from these students, adds a very positive vibe to the business. I believe these students deserve the opportunity to develop their skills and shine.”
