Green Week at the MET

Wouldn't it be great if everyone worked together to make the world a little greener?

We’ve invited lots of local organisations to put a spotlight on environmental and conservation issues that affect us all in the MET community and beyond!

If you'd like to do your bit then the MET has plenty of opportunities for you to help out and find out how you can make a difference in the world and your local community. Here’s a snapshot of what’s going on!

West Sussex Waste Partnership
Do you know where your waste goes? Do you know how to reduce your waste? The Waste Prevention Team will have Waste Prevention and Recycling information stands/sculptures made out of recycled materials by one of our Waste Prevention Advisors across Northbrook College. The stands will be up all week but advisors will be on hand on Monday 10th at West Durrington, Tuesday 11th at Broadwater and Thursday 13th at Shoreham Airport.

Plastic Free Worthing
Want to find out zero waste tips? Would you like to see beautiful clean beaches? Plastic Free Worthing is a local organisation planning to do just that! They’re visiting West Durrington on Tuesday 11th and Broadwater on Thursday 13th. So make sure you pop along and find out how you can get involved with the campaign.

Sussex by the Sea
Sussex Wildlife Trust are currently developing a new project, Sussex by the Sea.  Are you interested in how about the coast and sea?  Do you spend much time there? Find out how you can get involved in protecting the marine environment in the future. They will be bringing an interactive game to Broadwater and Brighton Central on Wednesday 12th. Come and check them out.

The Conservationist Volunteers & Litter Pick
TCV, the community volunteering charity, works every day across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone by connecting people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both. They are visiting West Durrington on Friday 14th to promote their summer schedule and let you know about the wonderful green spaces in Adur & Worthing. Meet in the refectory at 1pm for a campus litter pick!

That’s not all! Expect even more popping up over the week! We want to find out your zero waste tips! Let us know if you’re doing anything super sustainable or you are recycling pro or a beach cleaning connoisseur  – we want to see it! Use the hashtag #gbmetgreenweek
