Travel to college – Planned Train Strikes (March)

Travel to college – Planned Train Strikes (March)Further nationwide rail strikes will affect train services this week. The rail network is expected to be severely reduced on the affected dates, while the days surrounding strike action may also be impacted.

This unfortunately means the students and staff who use the rail network will experience disrupted and cancelled services from Thursday 16 March until Sunday 19 March – including on non-strike days, with Southern Rail reporting that trains will start later on the days between strikes.

Please check www.southernrailway.com for latest updates and to confirm service times. The college will be open and operating as usual during this time. If you are due to be in college, we would ask that you try to make alternative arrangements to attend. If you are unable to get to college on these days due to the industrial action on the rail services, please make sure you speak to your course tutor and student tutor ahead of the planned strike action to make alternative arrangements.

If industrial action is called off, you will be expected to attend classes as normal. Please be aware there could still be disruption to train services.

Rail strikes are due to take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday 16 March
  • Saturday 18 March
