This qualification increases learners’ awareness and understanding of falls and prevention. The qualification also covers the importance of recording and reporting any incidence of falls to ensure that interventions can be put in place to reduce the risk and reoccurrence of falls.
This qualification is aimed at anyone working in a healthcare or social care environment, particularly those that support or have contact with older people who have an increased propensity to falls.
Learners are required to undertake the following units:
- Unit 1 Falls in context
- Unit 2 The risk factors and causes of falls
- Unit 3 Falls assessment and prevention
- Unit 4 Managing falls
This course is free/government funded if you are 19+ at the start of the academic year, you live in England (some regional exclusions apply, including Greater London) and have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. Find out if you are eligible for funding.
