This qualification aims to give learners’ knowledge and understanding of the key principles, duty of care and safeguarding applied to adult health and social care.

Learners will investigate the principles and how they are applied in everyday work contexts.

They will also have an opportunity to examine the dilemmas that can arise and the consequences when these principles are not upheld.

This course is free/government funded if you are 19+ at the start of the academic year, you live in England (some regional exclusions apply, including Greater London) and have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. Find out if you are eligible for funding.

This qualification is designed primarily for individuals working with, or intending to work with vulnerable adults in the health and social care sectors.

 

There aren’t any specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification.

The programme is delivered online by a range of assessments.These are assessed by the tutor throughout the programme from induction to completion.

Learners are required to undertake the following units:ƒ

  • Unit 1 Understand safeguarding in adult health & social care
  • ƒUnit 2 Principles of dignity in adult health & social care practiceƒ
  • Unit 3 Understand duty of care in adult health & social care
  • Unit 4 Understand dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care

You will gain the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care (QCF 13 Credits).
