COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will help you progress to advanced chef training or start your cookery career. You will explore food and product development, and learn the technical skills required for professional preparation of vegetables, meat, poultry, game and fish.
To gain experience of a real working environment, you will work in our training restaurant and complete a work placement. This course will also develop your customer and food service skills including bar service, silver service and table theatre in our on-site restaurant.

- Serving experience in our public restaurant. At Level 1 and 2 you will study a combination of food and beverage service and at Level 3 you can specialise in your preferred area.

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations and academic coursework. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
Uniform and kit costs do apply to this course but can be fully funded from Bursary subject to application approval.

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.
What next?
Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
