Why this course?

This one year programme is suitable for any young person 18+ with an EHCP, who wishes to move towards paid employment.

Studying a Supported Internship programme at the MET will enable you to gain skills in a real work environment whilst being supported by college staff.

You will attend college for one day per week to complete a 'Getting into Employment' qualification as well as English and maths as appropriate to your prior levels.

You will also be matched to a placement with an employer that suits your personal goals.

You will receive in work support from a job coach to help you move to independence in your placement with the aim to move to paid employment once your internship is finished.

Course fees

This course is free (you do not have to pay fees) if:

  • You are a UK citizen, hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify you for home status.
  • AND you are under 19 on 31 August in the year you are studying.
