Why this course?

Medical student

During your time on the course, you will cover a range of topics such as Infection Control, Clinical Skills, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, and communication to name just a few.

You will undertake a work placement in a relevant health setting, to prepare you for employment as a frontline health care practitioner. The specification of this qualification has been mapped to the standards of health care services, meaning you will be well placed to embark on an exciting and rewarding career. You will build up your core knowledge and skills before specialising in a specific field of health.

Learning will take place in classrooms and also in our new simulation suite The suite, situated in the college’s new development in the heart of Brighton, is a multi-purpose teaching room which mimics a hospital ward with technology and equipment which will be found in hospitals or care facilities.

It also provides a 360-degree view of the training environment, with the ability to view scenarios remotely, as well as the opportunity to record and view sessions, allowing you to review your own work.

Your work placement will enhance your clinical studies and there is a wide range of opportunities in a variety of health care settings.

Entry Requirements

For this course you'll be required to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English and Maths. Also, two references (one from working with children) and enhanced DBS check.

  • AND you are under 19 on 31 August in the year you are studying.
