Why this course?

Do you want to learn how on-site construction works? This is an exciting and new qualification for construction students to learn about on-site construction at a Level 3 standard. You will cover core content related to the construction sector and choose an occupational specialism - this can be either brickwork or carpentry and joinery.

Your learning will cover a broad range of topics and practical skills. The learning mix is 50% practical and 50% theory, so that you can develop your skills in research, problem-solving, solution-development, communication and collaboration. Your practical learning will be designed so that you develop your experience with your occupational specialism.

  • Relationship management in construction

Industry Placement

The T Level will include a minimum of 315 hours of learning on work experience placement. Our Industrial Placement Officers will help you link-up with an employer and complete placements relevant to the qualification.

  • Occupational Specialism

You will choose one occupational specialism from the on-site construction trades. Carpentry and Joinery

This trade involves the use of timber in the building industry, from erecting timber frames, roofs and hanging doors through to making doors, windows, and stairs. You will use a range of materials and learn how these are cut, jointed and fixed to construct a variety of products and to develop your methods and techniques. You will learn how to do this safely and meet safe working practices. You will also develop your problem-solving and evaluation skills to allow you to learn how to plan, perform and review your work.

Industry Placement

  • You are a UK citizen, hold EU Settlement Status or have a visa which could qualify you for home status.
  • AND you are under 19 on 31 August in the year you are studying.
