Why this course?

This exciting introduction to virtual reality course is an 8-week free programme open to 16+ learners and adults (19+). 

Its well-known among those who are working in technology recruitment that skills in virtual reality development are in demand. Companies such as Apple, Meta, Google, and others are crying out for the skills to push the next phase of the internet forward i.e. The Metaverse. With this in mind, the Introduction to VR Exploring the Metaverse is designed to set you on your path toward a career of the future.

On this short introductory course to Virtual Reality, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of VR technology. You will explore its current uses and exciting future developments. You will learn how to implement VR inside the Unity game engine utilising our Meta Quest 2 headsets.

You will also have the opportunity to explore and find out what the ‘Metaverse’ is and how it could change the landscape of the world in the near future.

Tutor

Nick Dunn the author and tutor for the courses in VR has a MA in Creative Media from the University of Brighton and has been in the AR and VR space for the last 12 years, running his own agency Boing Splash and teaching games development courses for the last 5 years.

Nick also won the ‘Best use of Digital Technology’ award at the Sussex business awards in 2012 for his AR:Tz Trail, an augmented reality location-based exhibition of Digital art (Specifically 3D modeling) in 2011. Nick also wrote for the Guardian online back in 2012, read more here.

Tutor

The fee for adults enrolling in this course is £15. 

This will be refunded on completion of the course to those that are still attending.
